sweet surprise

the other night in my apartment complex, 

i caught sight of my neighbor, 

dressed in his fatigues, 

carrying a beautiful bouquet of roses. 

i watched him walk down the sidewalk, 

and right before he got to his apartment door, 

he hid the flowers behind his back. 

my heart melted.
