my man surprised me with a date to the north carolina museum of art on friday night. i showed up at his apartment wearing a dress and he was like "we have to go somewhere nice with you looking that good." or something to that effect. seriously. where did this kid come from?

i hadn't been there since high school so it was really cool to look at all of the new stuff. i'm not a high brow art history expert so i'm sure much of the art appreciation was lost on me, but it was still fun to walk around and ohh and ahh over certain pieces and scratch our heads at others. (art is a loose term, yeah?)

is there an art museum close to any of you that you have been to? do you have a favorite artist or exhibit? a favorite time period of art?

  6. What a fun impromptu date! He sounds like a sweetheart :) Love your dress and art museums are so much fun... My friend and I checked out the museum of modern art in NYC when we were there a couple of months ago, although there was a lot of interesting exhibits I have to admit there was a lot I just didn't 'get'. Maybe I'm just not cool enough haha! I love photography and it's probably my favorite form of art, especially lifestyle photography.

Stopping by from the coffee date link up :)

    1. he is kind of precious. :-) no, i'm so glad you're willing to admit to not "getting it" either! such a relief to know i'm not the only one. there was one that was literally a diamond shape canvas painted blue. THAT'S IT. say whaaaa? us non-modern art people gotta stick together. give me lifestyle photography anyway! thanks for stopping by. :-)

  8. Aw, what a cute date idea! I haven't been to the art museum in a few years but I have been meaning to go back. I don't know much about art but I love walking around and looking at everything! And girl, you are rocking that maxi dress- super cute!

    1. well that just means we will need to add art museum to our list of things to do when we hang out. ;-) this maxi dress is a dream! run, don't walk, to your nearest target and buy it. no regrets. it's soft, stretchy, easy to dress up or down, and i feel super feminine in it. it's got it all!
